Christmas

Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Zimmerman's. We had a great time, we didn't want to come home.
Here are a few pic's of the kids and their "loot".

After much anticipation I have gotten my new ring. It is beautiful. Darren picked the ring and I picked the diamond. It is a fun cushion cut. It is an old European diamond. I just fell in love with it. Here are a couple pics.

Home Decor

Well, here are the pics everyone has been asking to see.

This is the kids bath. Sky walls like their rooms. I like the beach theme and I love the penguins I found. Aren't they cute! I made the plaques with scrapbooking items and the cricut. I got the cabinet because I thought the beadboard(sp?) went well with the theme.

This is my room. With our new mattress I might add (it came today)! I painted all the walls nutmeg brown and I just sponged the one wall with navy, forest green and burgundy. I made the swag to replace the valence I had over the window. I don't think this pic does it justice. I really like how it turned out. The room is very warm and cozy!!
This pink/purple is the 1/2 bath off the family room that connects to the wash room. This iron piece was the inspiration. I had the two plaques and clock and didn't know what to do with the big blank wall opposite the sink and toilet. I found this plaque at Rodworks and fell in love with it. I thought it would go perfect. I found the shelves to match when I was buying the paint. I love how it turned out too.

Singing w/Ashlyn

This is Ashlyn with Rachel's hat. She loves putting it on. She likes to sing Ring-around-the-roses. And Pat-a-cake. Hope it puts a smile on your face like it does for us. She is so fun!

Busy busy bee!

Ashlyn is a busy girl!
She loves... shoes.

I took these this morning.  She is quick to climb on the table.  We have to make sure not to leave anything on the table.  We used to be able to just push in the chairs so she couldn't get up but now she can pull the chairs out.  So, we have to keep the table clean.

Did I mention she gets into everything?  She loves the bathroom, and if we leave the door open she likes to climb up on the toilet or pull all the toilet paper off the roll.  In this case both.

She found Rachel's yarn today too.  She likes to dress-up and wrap things around her neck.  Can you tell?  She keeps me on my toes.

October

Halloween was fun this year. We painted pumpkins one week then carved them just before Halloween. In case you can't tell Garrett is the transformer- Bumblebee, Rachel is Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Alec is the transformer- Optomusprime (sp?). Ashlyn is an adorable pink ladybug.

Did you know I love doing hair. Ashlyn still doesn't have much hair but I made it work. I think it turned out really cute.

Alec started soccer this year. His team is the Orange Fireballs! He is the one in the center with the great stride. He has decided he likes to be a defender. He didn't like running up and down the field so much. He takes after his Dad and is a great defender!
Highlights for September!

The Carpenter Family Reunion! Same time, same place, every year! Gotta love it!
Thanks to Duane's family for a great time!

Sawdust dig! It's tradition!

Rachel named herself camp photographer. She did a good job, don't you think?
Ninja Alec! Watch out here comes Garrett!
Ashlyn was into scrunching her nose.

Nice one Uncle Doug! Uncle Don of course!
Crazy kids!

Catch-up! August

Ok here I go. I am attempting to catch you all up on the Fam.
Highlights for August!
Davis County Fair of course.

1st Day of School!

Ashlyn's 1st B-day!
It took her a minute but I think she liked her cake! What do you think?

Alec's 7th B-day!
Wanted to go to the Roy Aquatic Center with his cousins. Thanks for coming Gary, Rex, Kaylee, Kylee! We are glad the Carpenter's live close but miss the Zimmerman's.

High Speed

Please welcome us to the world of high-speed Internet! Yeah! So, hopefully this blog will get updated alot more often. Especially since I blame not updating on having dial-up and that it takes too long. We'll see!
These are the family pics we had taken in August! Please let me know which one you like the best. 1? 2? or 3?
1.
2.
3.

Wow! It took less than 1 min to upload these 3 pics. It used to take me all day! I am not exaggerating!

Love you all!

Spot light on Alec AGAIN!!!

More fun at the Carpenter Home! I left Alec and Rachel home with Darren on a Saturday afternoon and came home to Alec needing stitches. Darren was mowing the lawn, Rachel and Alec were running around. Apparently they were racing into the house through the garage door and Alec tripped at the finish line and hit his head on the door frame on the way in. So, maybe I shouldn't leave these two alone with Darren. Poor Alec always seems to get the bad end of the deal.
